Summary of My Lecture

During week 3, Mr Fauzi taught us about using adobe photoshop such as introducing to us about the functions of tool box inside photoshop. He also taught us on using the Lasso Tool which allowed us to draw & pinpoint specific areas of a document. For Lasso Tool, there are Lasso, Polygonal Lasso & Magnetic Lasso. Furthermore, we were also brief about using the Pen Tool. Pen Tool is mainly use to create a path from scratch. There are a few variations of Pen Tool. For example, Straight line paths, U shaped curves, Simple S curves & Complex S curves. For layers, they are different images stacked on top of each other. Each layer can be use without affecting another one to make adjustments. They formed one final image together and it could look realistic in real life.

Tutorial
This week tutorial discussed about blending mode, paths, masking, layering and brief us about digital college. The link is here.

Week 3 Exercise 3

In week 3, Mr Fauzi brief us about digital collaging using Adobe Photoshop. He provided us a few images and showed us his results of compositions. He also tell us the importance of using the " Golden Ratio ' and the " Rule of Thirds ".

The image shown below are the images provided by our lecturer.

Figure 1.0
1. Composition #1

( Walking On The Moon )

Figure 1.1

DESCRIPTION: For this collage, I only choose a few aspects to do this collage. I named this collage ‘ Walking On The Moon ‘. The message I want to convey is about a family living on the moon. Therefore, I decided to make this collage simple and easy for viewers to understand.

2. Composition #2

( Time Travel )

Figure 1.2

DESCRIPTION: I named this collage ' Time Travel '. The message that I want to convey in this image was time lapse from olden days until now. From people travelling in olden days by using horses to now people are able to travel anywhere fast and conveniently using cars, train or plane.

3. Composition #3

( Aquarium)
Figure 1.3
DESCRIPTION: For this particular collage, I named it ' Aquarium '. Reason why is because I personally like going to aquarium and could watch fishes swimming in their tank all day. It's an enjoyable process for me to watch fishes swimming around freely. Therefore, I decided to come out with the collage above.

FEEDBACK: Among the 3 compositions above, Mr Fauzi had chosen COMPOSITION #1 which is ' Walking On The Moon ' .

REFLECTION

Compositing is the art of creating collages; it's like weaving a tapestry of different moments into one seamless story. Every component, a shard of its own narrative, finds meaning in this combination. For this exercise, I learnt about using tool box in Adobe Photoshop and also lasso tool & pen tool. Not only that, I also learnt about arranging compositions and combining them into a collage.
